*SITTING FEE* My sitting fee will be higher for 2008. It was never being paid most of the time, and it was always the same amount for large or small groups. Because it needs to cover my costs if you choose not to place an order, I have opted to "up" the price a bit and it must be paid prior to your session to hold your spot. There will be promotional times when the fee will be waived, and some sessions will require a higher or lower fee, depending on the amount of time required. The sitting fee is on a per hour basis if time goes beyond the first hour.
*CONTRACTS* I now have contracts that have been drawn up that must be signed prior to the session. It benefits both parties of course, but I've only recently seen the importance of having these for each person, regardless of who the client is, to sign. The things listed on this page will be listed in the contract you sign.
*DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY FIXES* With the start of digital photography came the belief that everything can now be fixed. Well, let me just tell you that the majority of photographers will NOT take the time that is required to fix every single thing for you. Most in fact, charge for any editing they do perform because it is such a tedious, time-consuming process. I do not right now, so please be respectful of what you ask of me. I will change photos to B/W, Sepia, or do alternate cropping. (However, please do not ask of me what you would not ask of any other photographer). For example, if you opt not to smile, I cannot plant a smile on your face. If you are having a bad hair-day, reschedule. I can fix minor things, but I cannot rearrange your "do." I will do what I can to make your children cooperate, but please keep in mind, they're your children. Digital photography is meant to add in backgrounds, lighting, etc.....not to fix each and every flaw you can pick out. I'm a photographer, not a magician!
*ORDERING* Once the proofs are in my client gallery, you will have two weeks to place an order. I do this because I am extremely busy with photos and my desk and my hard drive get loaded down with photos when I can't get through the order process in a timely manner. In addition, I've had people have photos taken in July who still haven't placed AN order in December. If you wait that long, you will no longer have photos to choose from. I do keep some photos for a longer period of time, but if your session fell into a promotion time slot, you may only use those prices during that 2 wk time slot. Orders placed after that 2 weeks will receive regular photo pricing.
*PAYMENT* Once you decide on your package, I will ask for 50% of your total PRIOR to ordering for you. The reason behind this is that the total for your order comes directly from my personal account and is not replaced until you pay for your order. The remaining balance must be paid prior to your photos leaving my possession. An additional reason for this is that some of you have placed orders that have been on my desk for months waiting to be picked up. I paid for them to sit on my desk. I have no use for someone else's photos, nor can I send them back so I have to eat that cost. Shipping and/or rush shipping and tax are not included in package prices. Mileage charges are additional as well, when warranted.
*ONLINE VIEWING* I offer online viewing in the client gallery section of my website. I do this so that you may view BEFORE purchasing and not on a blind-purchase basis. For this reason, if you order and decide AFTER receiving your order that there is something you do not like, I will do what I can to help you out, but it will not be a free of charge service. A business cannot succeed on favors I have learned!!
*CDs* Under NO circumstances will CDs of photos (edited or otherwise) be loaned out to anyone!! I tried in certain situations to make things easier on out of town clients by letting them view a CD in good faith. However, it has been brought to my attention that 2 of those clients printed off their own photos, thus violating my copyright. I am pursuing this legally as I write this. Please do not make me do this again. Just don't ask. As listed in my pricing package, a CD may be purchased after a minimum package order has been made and only then, and with my permission to reprint, may you have a CD of your session. NO EXCEPTIONS!
*NO SHOWS* If you have a scheduled session appointment and need to reschedule, you must call and notify me. If you just do not show up, you will be charged an additional $25.00. If you do it twice, it will double and you will not be able to book again. My sessions are often concurrent so if I can plug someone else into your time slot, I will, but if you do not notify me, obviously, I can't do that. Again, my time is valuable to both myself and my family.
*PROMOTIONALS/SPECIALS* During certain times of the year, I will offer promos or specials in photography packaging. Some will waive sitting fees, some will be reduced price packages, etc....There will be only limited editing done to those photos as the times fill up quickly. I will pick the best pose and that will be the photo you receive in your package. For other promos, if you are allowed to choose your own photos, you must do so within a 2 week period. Only during that time will you receive promo pricing. After the 2 week period, you will pay regular pricing.
*PHOTO FIXING* I've had alot of people come in and ask me to fix photos for them. I am happy to do so if I can! I will either print them off at my studio or send them to my lab. You will be charged for editing time and my supply costs.
*PRINT PURCHASING* I have many published and award-winning photos that are available to purchase. You may browse my print books, look through my online gallery listings, or come to me personally and request something. Some prints will be priced differently than others. For instance, a published photo will be priced higher than one that has not been. I do not matte or frame currently, but can refer you to someone who does all of my framing for me at this time. You can also purchase them framed and matted through Imagekind, one of my online galleries. Just ask!!
