The 11th Annual

~Cattlemen's Ball 2008~

  June 6th and 7th, 2008
The Niewohner Family will host the 2008 Cattlemen's Ball near the Olson Nature Preserve between Albion and Petersburg Nebraska. The Cattlemen's Ball annually showcases beef in a healthy diet and raises funds for Cancer Research. Ninety percent of the funds are donated to the University of Nebraska Medical Center's  Eppley Cancer Center in Omaha Nebraska with the remaining ten percent going to the host site's surrounding healthcare communities.
This year's entertainers for the Cattlemen's Ball will be the country group Diamond Rio. They will perform on the night of Saturday,  June 7th. In addition to Diamond Rio's performance, there will be live and silent auctions,  an art show, and a golf tournament to be held at the Albion Country Club.
Anyone interested in tickets for the event may contact Cornerstone Bank in Albion, NE at 402-395-2151. You may also contact Tiffany at either of her listed phone numbers and she can steer you in the right direction.

Any of you who are familiar with me will recognize the above photo. I have been selected (and it's an honor!) to design the tickets and brochure/programs for the 11th Annual Cattlemen's Ball. I wanted to be a part of this event as cancer has touched my life in so many ways in the past three years, so when the opportunity arose, I jumped on it. I merged three photos together in the end to produce this one picture. The theme for this year's cattlemen's ball is Bridge of Hope, so the bridge photo was taken in rural Nebraska, east of Petersburg. The sky is dark, but is opening up in light which seems to give way to "hope", thus the sky photo. The woman on the bridge is my grandma. She lost her battle with lung cancer in February of 2005, and she is the reason I became so involved in cancer research and awareness. I thought it was only fitting to put her on the journey down the bridge to hope. In time, I hope no one else ever has to lose their grandma, their father, their sister, their daugther.......or any loved one. Please consider attending the cattlemen's ball or donating to the cause. It's one that touches everyone.  You can read more about this at the website:

Thank you~
